For the past week, Lomé, the capital city of Togo, has been celebrating local and national fashion, culture and the arts. From September 8th until Saturday the 15th, people are invited to explore the various shows and activities in and around the Place de la Colombe de la Paix, in Togo.
Next to fashion, dance has also been a focal point in this weeks’ festivities, with the arrival of the Festival International De Danse Nikaala, presented by the dance company Tche Tche. The Lomé Fashion Week acts as an exciting teaser for what awaits us at the International Fashion Festival in Togo – known as Fimo228 – from February 20th – 24th, 2019.
Today is the last day to enter in the modelling competition, the winner of which will become the face of Lomé Fashion Week and will have the chance to put their voice to good use by ways of promoting causes of importance or mobilizing their community.
The casting call for designers, however, is still very much open! This is an exciting opportunity to present your latest collection to the African fashion industry as a participant of the sixth edition of Fimo228 next year. To participate, send in four pictures of your latest collection to firstname.lastname@example.org – we’re rooting for you and can’t wait to see your show next year!
